摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscosity measurement device in which the quantity of a sample, which is a substance to be detected, is smaller than the conventional quantity, which is smaller than the conventional device and in which viscosity of a substance having low viscosity of around 10 cP or lower can be measured more accurately than the conventional device, and a method of the same.SOLUTION: A viscosity measurement device of this invention includes: a container which contains a substance to be measured; a spherical rotor which is formed by a conductive material, is immersed in the substance to be measured, and is arranged being in contact with the bottom of the container; a magnet; a rotating magnetic field control unit; and a viscosity detection unit. The rotating magnetic field control unit gives a rotating magnetic field to the rotor by the magnet, excites an induction current to the rotor, gives a rotation torque to the rotor by the Lorentz interaction between the induction current and the magnetic field applied to the rotor, and controls the magnetic field in such a manner that the rotor moves in circulation, according to the rotation of the rotating magnetic field. The viscosity detection unit detects the viscosity of the substance to be measured by the number of circulation of the circulation movement of the rotor.
