PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiping mechanism which quickly and reliably performs wiping of an ink discharge surface with a simple structure and can effectively suppress scattering of ink by the restoring force of a wiper, and to provide an inkjet recording apparatus provided with the same.SOLUTION: A wiping mechanism 30 stops a wiper 35c at a position where distance D from an edge 60 in the downstream of a recording head 17c with respect to the wiping direction (the direction of an arrow A) to an upstream edge in a state where the wiper 35c is not bent does not exceed a flexure amount W (first flexure amount) in the direction of movement of the wiper 35c during the wiping operation of an ink discharge surface F. Subsequently, when the wiper 35c is gradually separated from the ink discharge surface F, the wiper 35c is deformed by the restoring force from the state of the flexure amount W so that the flexure amount may be reduced and passes through the edge 60 at a flexure amount W1 (second flexure amount) smaller than the flexure amount W. |
