Provided are an air interface capacity increasing method and device. The method comprises: after a service channel at a base station side is established, if the base station does not capture a service channel frame prefix sent by a terminal, the base station sending one-eighth rate frames to an air interface in a continuous transmission mode to ensure that the terminal can receive a forward frame of the base station; after the base station captures the prefix of the terminal, the base station only reducing to send the one-eighth rate frames; and when the terminal demodulates a forward service frame from the base station, if receiving continuous good frames, the terminal keeping a session state without releasing the call. The present invention solves the problems in the prior art of an inadequate air interface capacity and serious interference, and then achieves the effects of greatly reducing the sending amount of one-eighth rate frames of an air interface, reducing the interference between forward channels and increasing the air interface capacity, and at the same time also contributes to increasing the calling success rate and reduces call drop. |
