<p>Provided are a cell having reduced contact resistance at the contacting surfaces of the separator and the electrodes; a cell separator capable of reducing contact resistance with electrodes; and a method for production thereof. The cell is equipped with a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator imposed therebetween, and an electrolyte. The separator has a matrix structure of nanofibers formed by an electrospinning process, and has a sheet shape having a first surface, and a second surface on the opposite side therefrom. When the average maximum fiber diameter of the nanofibers in the planar direction of the separator is compared between portions in proximity to the first surface and in proximity to the second surface, and a center portion in the thickness direction of the separator, the average maximum fiber diameter Ds1 of the nanofibers in proximity to the first surface and the average maximum fiber diameter Ds2 of the nanofibers in proximity to the second surface is smaller than the average maximum fiber diameter Dc of the nanofibers in the center portion in the thickness direction of the separator.</p> |
