The circuit (300) has a current mirror (310) including a transistor (M1) receiving a reference current (I-ref) at an end (D) of the transistor, another transistor (M2) generating a driving current (I-drv) at an end of the latter transistor, where the end of the latter transistor is directly connected to a light-emitting device (LD). An amplifier (320) has an input terminal (IN-a) coupled to the end of the former transistor, another input terminal (IN-b) coupled to the end of the latter transistor, and an output terminal (OUT-c) coupled to a set of control ends (G) of both the transistors. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an error detection circuit for a driver circuit, comprising a reference current source (2) an error detection method for a driver circuit.
