The present invention relates to a retardation film, more specifically a retardation film which contains a ring type olefin based polymer obtained by hydrogenizing a ring-opening polymerization polymer ring-opening polymerized from a mixture of a tetracyclododecene derivative and dicyclopentadiene, is useful as a 1/4λplate as well as a 1/2λplate, and has improved transparency.
