PURPOSE: A proton therapy device by controlling the size of the cross section of the proton beam is provided to conduct efficient tumor treatment in a short time by drastically reducing the irradiation times of the beam with variously controlling the cross section of the proton beam. CONSTITUTION: A proton therapy device comprises a synchrotron (200) which accelerates the proton beam to have predetermined energy; and a gantry (300) which irradiates to the tumor by controlling the cross section of the proton beam which irradiated from the synchrotron. A cross section of the proton beam and the irradiation number which irradiated in the gantry is controlled in a longitudinal direction of the tumor according to the transverse section of the domain segmented in multiple units. The proton beam is irradiated in the gantry in a scanning method. The proton therapy device also includes a linear acceleration device (100) which supplies the proton beam accelerated in the synchrotron in a pulse unit.
