A boot cover device 10, suitable for protecting a boot 12 from rain 14 and dirt and/or intrusion by insects 13 or other creatures, comprises a top cover portion 15 and a skirt portion 18. The skirt portion 18 includes a length adjustable region and an elastic band 16 to fit closely around the exterior of the boot 12. The device 10 also includes a locator (17, figure 2) such as a coiled strip of plastics which is resilient like a spiral spring, conveniently retained between the exterior fabric (20, figure 4) and the liner (21, figure 4) of the cover. The locator 17 is inserted into the top of the boot 12 to hold it open and provide counter pressure for the external length adjustable band 16. |
