A structural spacing member 10, for positioning a pane 70 of a sliding door assembly 50 relative to an outer frame member 52, comprises a rigid elongate spacing member body 12 which has a pre-determined cross-sectional profile. First and second portions 14, 16 of the cross-sectional profile define a spacing dimension (D) of the spacing member 10. The spacing member body 12 includes a first flexible elongate seal formation 18 which extends along the entire length of a first side 20 of the spacing member body 12 so as to, in use, lie adjacent to an exterior-facing side (60 Fig 2) of the outer frame member 52. A second seal formation 22 is located on the other side of the spacing member. The seals may be co-extruded with the spacer member and be resiliently deformable. |
