<p>A touch screen-based GUI providing method capable of receiving hand-written letters using a pen or a finger and an electronic device in which the same is applied are provided. The GUI providing method for an electronic device uses the entire region of a touch screen of an electronic device to input one letter using a pen or a finger so that the size of each hand-written letter remains the same, even when the screen is enlarged, thereby improving the readability of a sentence. By doing so, the present invention can provide various note techniques available for various kinds of electronic notes, smart notes, and electronic publications, enhances user convenience and readability, and facilitates wide use of electronic notes.
