PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a naphtha fraction containing a one ring aroma, in particular, 8C aroma by a high ratio, that is, a high octane number gasoline fraction by contacting a high aromatic hydrocarbon oil material such as an LCO with a hydrocracking catalyst. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a gasoline fraction by contacting a high aromatic hydrocarbon oil with a hydrocracking catalyst utilizes a catalyst containing in a frame resistant carrier as a hydrocracking catalyst 40 mass% or more of a super stable Y type zeolite having a specific lattice constant, crystallinity, an acid amount, and absorbance of an OH group satisfying a specific formula.
