PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surge detection circuit for sensors which determines deterioration of characteristics in a chip due to surge voltages input from a sensor provided outside the chip and then outputs an alarm signal. SOLUTION: The surge detection circuit for sensors includes an input circuit 11 and a comparison purpose input circuit 22, the input circuit 11 and the comparison purpose input circuit 22 being connected to an input terminal T. The output signals of the input circuit 11 and the comparison purpose input circuit 22 are fed into a level difference detection circuit 23. The level difference detection circuit 23 detects a level difference in the output signals of the input circuit 11 and the comparison purpose input circuit 22 and outputs a detected value thereof as an output signal to a control unit 24.
