PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem with a power shovel with a magnet that claws for holding waste and a magnet for selecting a magnetic substance included in the waste from other substances cannot effectively exert their individual functions. SOLUTION: The power shovel 1 with a magnet comprising a power shovel and a magnet attached to the power shovel holds a destroyed object, and selects a magnetic substance in waste of the destroyed object. One claw 24 of a pair of freely rotatable claws constituting the power shovel is provided with a magnet 26, and a moving protruding means 7 for causing an attraction face of the magnet 26 to protrude outwardly from a holding face 24a of the one claw 24 is provided.
