A backlight unit of a display device is provided to perform constant current control and light emission control of an LED(Light Emitting Diode) array only using relatively cheap circuit elements to reduce the manufacturing cost. A backlight unit(100) of a display device includes an LED array(50), a light emission control transistor(60), a pulse generator(PS), a pulse converter(70), and a power source(VS). The LED array includes a plurality of LEDs connected in series. The light emission control transistor is connected to the LED array. The pulse generator outputs a pulse signal for controlling light emission of the LED array. The pulse converter converts the amplitude of the pulse signal or inverts the phase of the pulse signal and applies the pulse signal to the light emission control transistor. The power source supplies power to the LED array. |
