<p>The reflective dome increases the processing effect and blocks harmful radiation by using a curved shield 2 to re-reflect laser radiation towards the processing area. Laser optics are connected within a shielding shade 1 on the curved shield 2. The laser beam 9 penetrates through the shielding shade 1 to reach the substrate target 11. A gas curtain 3 may also be used to deliver highly pressurised air to blow away debris from the laser optics. A cooling tank 4 absorbs heat from the underside of the curved shield 2. Two adjustable members 5 and 6 may be used to position a powder chute 7 for accurate deposition of a metallic powder 10. A push fit connection 8 may be assembled onto the powder chute 7, to connect tubing for supply of the metal powder 10. The reflective dome is preferably lightweight and easily installed onto a variety of robots and CNC stages.</p> |
