PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger which does not perform temperature control at charging while having high compatibility with a battery drive device, as a charger that controls temperature at charging. SOLUTION: A charger 1 includes a charging circuit 13 which charges a secondary battery 14 and outputs a state notification control signal indicating a charging state of the secondary battery 14, a control part 15 which stops the charging circuit 13 when the state notification control signal indicating a fully-charged state is input but outputs a control signal for operating the charging circuit 13 when the state notification control signal indicating that the other state is input, and a state notification control circuit 46 which detects a temperature of the secondary battery 14 and, if the detected temperature TB is a predetermined value, causes the input terminals SI1 and SI2 of the control part 15 to be in the same input state as when the state notification control signal indicating the fully-charged state is input.
