A method, system and devices for improved delivery of a certain media content in a content delivery network. The embodiments of the present invention suggest innovative approach, which is not based on creating and propagating multiple media delivery formats for servicing different client types. New approach aims at reducing storage, network bandwidth, Origin server capacity and other CDN resources making the proposed CDN superior in terms of cost efficiency, scalability and flexibility.
