Method for liquidising biomass

The process involves providing a biomass, with a water content of 50%, into a reaction container. The aqueous biomass is heated at a specific pressure at 250[deg]C. The biomass is brought into contact with a transition metallic oxide as catalyst that contains an oxide of iron, cobalt, zinc, copper and chromium. Liquid reaction products, such as oil, are removed from the container.
