The present invention relates to a mobile device and, more specifically, to a mobile device and a method for providing location information and an emergency call function. The mobile device is characterized by comprising: a navigation tracker information processing unit for receiving user input about a starting point and a destination and calculating a path and a time for the user to move from the starting point to the destination; and an emergency mode unit for automatically calling at least one previously specified number determined by the user if the user deviates from the path calculated by the navigation tracker information processing unit over a given margin of error or elapsed time exceeds the sum of the calculated time and a given allowable overtime.
