A method of operating a touch sensitive display that includes a sensor having an input array of electrodes capacitively coupled to an output array of electrodes. The method includes the step of performing a scan operation at every intersection point of the input array and output array, so as to obtain a touch value for each intersection point, the touch value being indicative as to whether there is a touch event at the intersection point. The scan operation is then repeated only for the intersection points for which the associated touch value meets a predetermined criterion with no further scan operations being performed for the intersection points for which the touch value does not meet criterion. The effect of noise may be reduce by using multiple scan samples only at points near or at potential touch point to obtain average touch values. |
