A sewing machine has a needle bar for maintaining a sewing needle. Additionally, the sewing machine has at least one transferring dog for transferring material to be sewed on a supporting plate for a needle plate and the material and in a stitch region on the needle plate. A transferring dog operating unit is formed in a way that a moving curve (53; 56) of the at least one transferring dog has a plateau transferring path (PUT; POT) parallel to the needle plate (11) between a transferring start point (54) and a transferring end point (55), and an interval deviation between end gaps (UT0; OT0) of the transferring dog (13) and the needle plate (11) becomes less than 20%. The plateau transferring path (PUT; POT) has less than 40% of an interval between the transferring start point (54) and the transferring end point (55) following a transferring direction (12). By doing so, obtained is the sewing machine performing a reliable transferring of the material to be sewed under an unfavorable boundary condition relating to the material to be sewed in case that the material to be sewed is, for example, highly soft and highly hard/hard or highly thick. |
