PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diagnose one-system abnormalities in double reed switch of a detector without detaching the double detector for positions of control rods equipped with the double reed switches outside a reactor. SOLUTION: A control rod position detector for detecting positions of control rods in a nuclear reactor is a double control rod drive device 11 with the double reed switches 14 where two reed switches are mounted in parallel and are also staggered with each other in the direction of the drive of control rods and a control rod position detector diagnosis apparatus 20 for diagnosing one-system abnormalities of the double reed switches 14 of the control rod position detector and is provided with a reed switch determination device 21 for determining one-system abnormalities of the double reed switches 14 from a signal ON duration time T by inputting signals from the double reed switches 14 of the double control rod position detector 11.
