The conveying drum (100) has stops (24) that are provided at the side of the receiving troughs (20). A cover (40) for receiving troughs is provided in conveying region of the conveying drum in the circumferential direction. The cover is provided to cover conveying region of the conveying drum between the end stops of the receiving troughs for the rod-shaped articles. An independent claim is included for machine.
