The present invention relates to and autostereoscopic display device and driving method which can display both 2D and 3D images. The invention comprises the first and second light source groups that investigate the light of the display panel, a backlight unit which includes the lenticular lens array located between the display panel and the light source groups, a display driving unit of which it inputs the left-eye video data to the pixels of the display panel during the first sub frame period, and then inputs the right-eye video data to the pixels of the display panel during the second sub frame period, and a back light driving unit of which it turns off the light source of the first source group during the first sub frame period, and then also turns off the second light source of the second light group during the second sub frame period.
