The arrangement has left and right shoulder carriers (3, 4) each staying in connection with a pelvic restraint belt (6) with the use of rear ends (17). The pelvic restraint belt is connected with a support for a hand-operated tool i.e. brush cutter. One of the shoulder carriers includes an elastic region (29), which allows expansion of the shoulder carrier in a longitudinal direction. The shoulder carrier includes a longitudinal boundary (30) for the elastic region, where the boundary limits a maximal expansion of the elastic region. The elastic region is designed as an elastic band.
