<p>A video encoding device for increasing the compressibility of a video signal while maintaining a high image quality is disclosed. In order to minimize the number of bits which are required for a residual block, the video encoding device and a method thereof encode conversion coefficients which are quantized depending on the size of a conversion encoding block by dividing into multiple subsets and scanning the quantized coefficients which are not zero as the unit of each subset. Moreover, the video encoding device and the method thereof determine the intra prediction mode of a current block by using effective reference pixels which are adjacent to the current block and filtered reference pixels after filtering generated reference pixels. Therefore, data quantity which is necessary for the residual block of the current block can be minimized.</p> |
