The present invention relates to a method for providing a lock screen, a device for providing a lock screen, and a computer-readable recording medium. The method for forming a lock screen comprises the steps of: (a) receiving templates to form a lock screen in a portable terminal; (b) receiving selected information relative to contents able to be connected to the templates in the portable terminal; and (c) forming the lock screen in order for the contents according to the selected information to be displayed by connecting with the templates. The templates consist of web language. According to the present invention, the selected contents are connected to the templates and are displayed on the terminal as a lock screen type by receiving the templates to form the lock screen and the selected information relative to the contents(images, web pages) able to be connected to the templates so that the lock screen can be formed to be dynamic and the templates can be automatically displayed to be suitable for a display size of the device as the templates consist of web language.
