A universal control valve may use two different seat ring types including a threaded seat ring or a clamped seat ring. The valve includes a valve body, a cage mounting space enclosed by a bonnet and sized to receive two different valve cage types, and a seat ring mounting location including, an annular shoulder, a radiused projection, and a threaded portion. The threaded portion receives a threaded seat ring and the radiused projection forms a seal, while the shoulder supports a mounting flange of a clamped seat ring and forms a seal. Accordingly, the seat ring mounting location can receive a selected one of the two different seat ring types. |
