The present invention relates to a temperature controller of an electric heating sleeping gear controlling temperature of a sensing and heating wire which is an electric heating unit of the electric heating sleeping gear like an electric blanket, an electric pad and an electric mat and, more specifically, to an apparatus and a method for preventing fire by arc control of the temperature controller which monitor generation of an arc control current due to contact failure of a connection part connecting the temperature controller and a heater including the sensing and heating wire, and prevent fire due to the arc control current by stopping heating operation when the arc control current is made.
