An apparatus and a method for transmitting broadcast/multicast frames in a wireless mesh network are provided to prevent broadcast/multicast frames from being undelivered by transmitting a broadcast/multicast frame to a receiving communication device, creating and transmitting a beacon frame containing frame information about the broadcast/multicast frame, and retransmitting the broadcast/multicast frame according to a request the receiving communication device makes on the basis of the beacon frame. A transmitting communication device transmits a broadcast/multicast frame through a common channel(S210), and stores it during a preset time(S220). The transmitting communication device creates a beacon frame containing frame information about the stored broadcast/multicast frame(S230). The transmitting communication device transmits the created beacon frame in order to announce that the transmitted broadcast/multicast frame exists(S240). The transmitting communication device receives a management frame as a response for the transmitted beacon frame(S250). The transmitting communication device retransmits the stored broadcast/multicast frame according to the management frame(S260). |
