PURPOSE: Dynamic positioning system and method capable of using in polar regions are provided to prevent the generation of frost or ice on a sensor located outside by including a heating system. CONSTITUTION: A dynamic positioning system includes a measuring unit(110), a thrust unit(130), and a controller(120). The measuring unit includes plural sensors measuring ship information including the location of a ship. The thrust unit controls the location of the ship. The controller outputs a control signal to the thrust unit based on the measured value inputted from the measuring unit. The measuring unit includes a heating system(118) providing heat to at least one sensor.
