摘要 388,185. Concentrating ores. KVIST, G. L. and McCONVILLE, F. B., Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Jan. 25, 1932, No. 2294. [Class 82 (ii).] A flotation classifier consists of a tank with a tailings overflow at one end, means for introducing pulp at a point intermediate the ends of the tank, raking means operating adjacent the bottom of the tank which discharge coarse material at the end remote from the tailings overflow, and means for introducing gas, preferably compressed air, between the pulp inlet and the tailings overflow. A tank 1 is divided into two communicating compartments 16, 17 by a transverse partition 7, the bottom wall 5 of the compartment 16 being horizontal and the bottom wall 6 of the compartment 17 being inclined. A series of transverse troughs 18, 18A cover the bottom walls 6, 5, the troughs 18A in the compartment 16 being spaced from the wall 5 to form a chamber 19 connected to a compressed air supply pipe 20. The troughs 18A are formed with air-pervious portions 23 preferably composed of carborundum and cement. Two rakes 28, separated in the compartment 16 by a longitudinal partition 32 and having curved scrapers 30, are suspended by hangers 29 from cranks 27 on shafts 26, the cranks being arranged so that one rake is raised when the other is lowered. The scrapers 30 follow the curvature of the troughs 18, 18A. Pulp containing the necessary frothing agents is fed from a launder 35 by pipes 34 to hoppers 33 mounted on the transverse partition 7 from which it passes over deflecting plates 36. The material is agitated by the scrapers 30, the light mineral being raised by the air bubbles and collected in longitudinal launders 39 formed on the sides of the tank and on the longitudinal partition 32. The froth flows from these launders through openings 40 in the end wall of the tank and is discharged through launders 41 and discharge pipe 42. The finely divided tailings pass through openings 9 in the end wall and over an adjustable weir 12 into a chamber 14 from which they are discharged from pipes 15. The coarser materials are transferred by the scrapers 30 to the end of the tank remote from the tailings discharge and are discharged into a shoot 31 and reground for further treatment. The apparatus is particularly adapted for use in mills dealing with silver, lead, copper, &c.
