The present invention relates to a nonaqueous electrolytic solution for a secondary battery which solution comprises methyl difluoroacetate as an additive. It is sometimes hard to prepare batteries having good charge-discharge properties by the use of an electrolytic solution obtainable by using methyl difluoroacetate as a solvent and singly using LiPF 6 as an electrolyte salt. Concerning to a nonaqueous electrolytic solution which comprises an electrolyte, a solvent and an additive, the present invention improves the charge-discharge properties in a temperature range from low temperatures to high temperatures by using a nonaqueous electrolytic solution for a secondary battery which solution comprises methyl difluoroacetate in an amount of not less than 0.05 part by mass and not more than 10 parts by mass as an additive based on 100 parts by mass of the whole solvent.
