The invention relates to a method for calcinating phosphorous plaster or other humid synthetic plasters. Said method consists of two steps, the plaster is calcinated in a calcinator (3) and the hot product is post-calcinated in a post reactor (6). According to the invention, fine comminution is combined with the post-calcination in the post-reactor (6) and humid gas is added to the product. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out said method and a corresponding retrofitted reactor.
