Disclosed is a system for reducing the computing and communication requirements of electronic utility meters. A meter data support system (105) on a computer device is configured to receive raw meter data from a plurality of non-smart electronic utility meters (104a, 104b, 104c) that are each restricted to one way outbound communication. An auxiliary value is calculated for each non-smart electronic utility meter (104a, 104b, 104c) using the raw meter data from each respective non-smart electronic utility meter. Access to the auxiliary value is provided to at least one of a user (106) and a customer (103a, 103b, 103c). |
