Examples of compounds of formula (IV) are: Deoxyactagardine B (2,4-difluorobenzylamine) monocarboxamide; V15F Actagardine (3,5-dichlorobenzylamine) monocarboxamide; Deoxyactagardine B [3-(3',5'-dichlorobenzamido)-propylamine] monocarboxamide; and Actagardine (3,5-dichlorobenzylamine) monocarboxamide. Also disclosed are compositions comprising a compound of formula (IV), a process for making a compound of formula (IV) and the use of the compounds and compositions in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of microbial infection, particularly Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection. |
