The present invention relates to providing an information providing service system using two dimensional barcode written in a daily newspaper and a method thereof to a subscriber. The subscriber accesses a wired/wireless communication network. A mobile terminal comprising a camera scans the two dimensional barcode and transmits the two dimensional barcode information and payment ID stored in the mobile terminal to a race information providing server. The race information providing server searches, extracts and provides the payment value corresponding to the payment ID. The race information providing server can select and provide a race number. If the subscriber selects the race number, the information providing service system extracts the race number and provides the extracted race number to the mobile terminal.
