The present invention relates to compositions and methods for reducing or preventing the loss of drilling fluids and other well servicing fluids into a subterranean formation during drilling or construction of boreholes in said formation. Specifically, this invention comprises a curable cross-linkable composition capable of free radical polymerization for creating lost circulation material. The curable cross-linkable composition comprises a mixture of: (i) an organic compound capable of free radical (co)polymerization represented by the formula: (F p1LxQ1 wherein x is an integer from 2 to 8; L is a moiety comprising an aromatic or an aliphatic group derived from an diisocyanate; Fp1 is a moiety derived from an organic compound with a reactive group and one or more free radical polymerizable group; and Q1 is a moiety derived from an organic polyol comprising two or more hydroxyl groups having a molecular weight of from 400 to 4,000 and (ii) a reactive diluent described by the following formula: (F p2yQ2 wherein: y is an integer from 2 to 8; Fp2 is a moiety derived from an organic compound with a reactive group which may be the same or different than Fp1 and Q2 comprises a moiety derived from an organic polyol comprising two or more hydroxyl groups having a molecular weight of from 60 to 500.
