The system (1) has a fuel cell (2) comprising an anode compartment (3) and a cathode compartment (4). A gas/gas humidifier (8) comprises moisture-permeable membranes (9). A supply line (12) supplies an exhaust gas from the anode compartment to moistened exhaust air in a flow direction in front of the humidifier and is branched from an exhaust line (10) that feeds the exhaust gas from the anode compartment parallel to the humidifier. A valve device (13) adjusts a ratio of the exhaust gas flowing through the supply and exhaust lines. A turbine drives an air conveying device (7).
