PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improved multifunctional resinous molding compositions with a high level of adsorbing properties with enhanced mechanical properties.SOLUTION: Adsorbing materials are introduced into and then bonded to a resin, and then a component is formed by molding the composition, wherein the component does not need an enforcing additive used conventionally, thereby eliminating the enforcing additive. Adsorptive capacities can be made higher than those of the conventional sorbent-containing molding composition, whereby articles of this present application are multi-functional, beneficially combining structural, mechanical and adsorptive capabilities, and having higher moisture adsorptive capacities. The resin may be a thermoplastic resin and the sorbent may be selected from the group consisting of a molecular sieve, silica gel, an ion exchange resin, activated carbon, activated alumina, clay, particulate metal, a salt comprising a COreleasing anion and mixtures thereof. |
