PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed reducer breakage state notification device capable of accurately notify a breakage state of a speed reducer even when a service condition of the speed reducer is different.SOLUTION: A speed reducer breakage state notification device for notifying a breakage state of a speed reducer of an industrial robot is equipped with a speed reducer and a lubricant deterioration sensor provided with a clearance forming member in which a clearance for invasion of a lubricant of the speed reducer, or an oil clearance arranged on an optical path from a white LED to an RGB sensor is formed and which allows light to transmit. The speed reducer breakage state notification device sets a threshold according to a load (S209, S210) applied to the speed reducer (S215); and notifies the breakage state of the speed reducer corresponding to the threshold (S219, S220), when a color difference &Dgr;E (S216) between a color detected by the RGB sensor and a black color reaches the threshold (YES in S217 and NO in S218, YES in S217 and YES in S218).
