PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To project an image having a resolution higher than that of a display element with higher quality.SOLUTION: When the size of a display element in the vertical direction is a number of lines ln in the maximum effective region, the angle per line at a field angle α of a projection lens is α/ln. A motor rotates a predetermined angle with one drive pulse, and the projection direction of a projection lens changes by an angle λ. The angle λ is the resolution of change of projection angle &thetas; in rotation control of the motor. In other words, the angle λ is the minimum variable angle of the projection angle &thetas; in the rotation control of the motor. The angle λ is determined by the step angle of the motor and the gear ratio of a gear group. The angle λ is determined so that a relationship λ<α/ln is satisfied between the angle (α/ln) and the angle λ. |
