PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide binder pitch improved in carbonization yield (fixed carbon content) without fluctuating the softening point.SOLUTION: There is disclosed binder pitch in which a molar composition ratio of carbon (C) to hydrogen (H) (C/H ratio) is ≥1.90; quinoline-insoluble (QI) content is 12.0-30.0 mass%; a free carbon (primary QI) content is 12.0-30.0 mass%; a mesophase (secondary QI) content is ≤0.50 mass%; a toluene-insoluble (TI) content is ≥24.0 mass%; and a fixed carbon (FC) content is ≥58.0 mass%. |
