PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge an operation unit without allowing the unit to be projected toward a front surface side.SOLUTION: An image reader 20 includes a scanner part 50 and an original cover 60. The scanner part 50 includes an original platen 51 on an upper surface. The original cover 60 includes: an original pressure plate 61 for pressing an original placed on the original platen 51; and an operation unit 70 fixed to the original pressure plate 61 so as to constitute at least a part of an upper surface of the original pressure plate 61. The original cover 60 is freely moved to an original pressure position where the upper surface of the original platen 51 is covered, an operation position where the operation unit 70 is moved in a direction to face a front surface F side from the original pressure position, and an open position where the operation unit 70 is moved in a direction to face a rear surface R side from the original pressure position to thereby open the upper surface of the original platen 51. |
