The present invention thus relates to a method for screening a candidate compound for its pharmacology on a nuclear receptor. More particularly, the present invention thus relates to a method for screening a candidate compound for its pharmacology on a nuclear receptor comprising i) determining the ability of the candidate compound to degrade the nuclear receptor ii) determining the ability of the candidate compound to activate the nuclear receptor and iii) concluding that the candidate provides a coupling effect when the candidate compound both degrades and activates the nuclear receptor or concluding that the candidate compound provides an uncoupling effect when the candidate compound solely degrades or activates the nuclear receptor.
