<p>The block (1) has lateral retaining strips (24) separated from each other and arranged at opposite edges of an individual rechargeable battery flat cell. The flat cell is held in a cuboid shaped housing (2) of the block. Two supporting elements are arranged at two edges of a film stack of the flat cell, where one of the edges is fixed opposite to the other edge. The supporting elements are forcedly supported against each other transverse to the edges of the film stack. The supporting elements are in force connection with the lateral retaining strips of the flat cell.</p>
