The wheel hub drive has a dynamo-electric machine (1) that is provided with a stator and a rotor. The rotor housing is connected with a rim (2). The electric machine has a casing in which the rotor and the stator are accommodated. A sensor for contactless detection of rim, is connected with the rotor. The sensor is provided with a transmitter (3) and a receiver (5). The transmitter is connected with the rim and the receiver is secured at the stator. The transmitter and receiver are mounted at the stator such that the emitted signal from the transmitter is reflected.
