PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a &pgr;/2 shift BPSK signal correlation method for high-speed communication capable of outputting a signal indicating correlation with an existing symbol sequence with low power consumption, by using an inexpensive device.SOLUTION: A symbol sequence correlator 113 receives digital data series S2-1 and S2-2 obtained by sampling a signal, produced by separating a received signal containing an existing symbol sequence subjected to &pgr;/2 shift BPSK modulation into an I channel and a Q channel, at a predetermined symbol rate, and calculates an even correlation value, i.e., a correlation value of even components of a partial series having the digital data as a final component and the exiting symbol sequence, and an odd correlation value, i.e., a correlation value of odd components, for each input digital data. The symbol sequence correlator 113 also calculates the square sum of the even correlation value and the odd correlation value, and generates and outputs an I channel correlation signal indicating the time series change thereof, and Q channel correlation signals S4-1 and S4-2. |
