PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front-of-vehicle monitoring device which allows for generation of monitoring image data suitable for both dark environment and bright environment.SOLUTION: A front-of-vehicle monitoring device 1 includes a projector 10 projecting near-infrared light, an optical system 20 which transmits light of specific wavelength, an image pick-up element 30 for capturing the image of a front area, and image processing means 50 which generates monitoring image data for monitoring the front area. The optical system 20 includes a near-infrared light transmission unit 21 for limiting the wavelength of light being transmitted toward the image pick-up element 30 to the wavelength region of near-infrared light emitted from the projector 10, and a visible light transmission unit 22 for setting the wavelength of light being transmitted toward the image pick-up element 30 to the wavelength region of visible light. The image processing means 50 processes a near-infrared light signal output from the image pick-up element 30 by receiving the transmission light of the near-infrared light transmission unit 21, and a visible light signal output from the image pick-up element 30 by receiving the transmission light of the visible light transmission unit 22, as image signals. |
