PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a plurality of targets intruding into a monitor area with high precision and at a high speed by providing an inexpensive target detection apparatus or target detection system appropriate for an exposure environment such as outdoors.SOLUTION: A wide angle measurement range is covered with a configuration in which the number of components of a transmission/reception means 101 is suppressed by switching connection between sensor means 102-1 to 102-m and the transmission/reception means 101 using a switch means 103 in a time division manner. Moreover, when targets are localized using only two target detection apparatus, false detection due to ambiguity of combination of equations of circles is prevented using information on an area common to both angle ranges covered with respective two apparatuses or the total propagation distance information from one apparatus to the other apparatus through each target. |
